Description

The Madonna stands half-length, holding the Child in her arms. He has in his hand a peach that alludes to the Marian virtue of fecundity. Both look at the viewer, with a sweetness that moves. Crivelli, learning the use of Renaissance space from Andrea Mantegna, fused together Gothic elegance with a taste for gold and Byzantine decoration.

Pictography fresh on lime “Essential” category. Retouching by hand with oxide-based earths. Made on the base while still fresh for exceptional durability. Handwork in order to recreate every smallest detail. Hot chalk relief, gold leaf gilding.
