Description

It is a work of the full maturity of the artist known as "the painter of the Madonnas". Salvi, who completed his apprenticeship first at the Guido Reni, then at Domenichino, drew heavily on the models by Perugino and Raphael. His artistic production focused on on the devotional sphere and, in particular, on the Madonnas, of which he made numerous examples, even replicating them several times.

Pictography on lime “Essential” category. Retouching by hand with oxide-based earths. Done on the base while still fresh for exceptional durability. Handwork to recreate every smallest detail.
